  WHO INVENTED THE FIRST EVER COMPUTER VIRUS?  Basit Farooq Alvi and Amjad Farooq Alvi, two Pakistani brothers, invented the first-ever computer virus. In  January 1986, they developed the virus in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, and named it BRAIN and is considered to be the first computer virus for MS-DOS. The virus was carried in floppy disks and soon spread throughout the world. Not only did they develop the first-ever computer virus, but the two brothers also left their names, address, and phone number inside the virus's code. They claimed that the virus was not destructive and was not developed to acquire or destroy any data. The brothers stated that the virus's core function was to examine floppy disks for unused memory, and the virus only entered the disks that had available space.
